( Oh, this is just depressing.... )
Is it really too early to go to bed? Yeah, probably... But I've eaten myself into a food coma today, and I had to be at work super duper early this morning, and I wrote a rant in an email about "Atlas Shrugged" and how I feel it applies to my current work situation (Thank you, JT, for helping to put that idea back in my head... *grin* We ARE the Dagny Taggart of retail...). I think bed is not only warranted but much deserved at this moment in time. Yeah, it's bedtime. G'night, LJ-land!

Okay, let's face it: I'm about as conservative as they come. I've voted for a Republican in every Presidential election I was eligible to vote in, save one (I couldn't help myself--Bob Dole was just too creepy to be president...). I choose clothes with the idea in mind, "Can I wear this for the next ten years and not feel out of place?" If I can't answer that question with a resounding "Yes," then I don't buy it. My favorite place to shop is the Gap, but I usually stick to sweaters when I go there because their sweaters are classic. And yet tonight, I have been convinced to lay aside that schoolmarm demeanor and don a Goth persona. Even my incredibly yuppie boyfriend is getting in on the act. And what, pray tell, is the main appeal of going to the only Goth club in Columbus?
Air hockey. There's an air hockey table at Outland. And I can hardly wait to put on my platform Mary Janes and go play. :)
But first, there's work for a few hours (gotta love it when the boss get reamed for the store being a mess and opening up the availability for overtime so we can pull it all back together again in a matter of days). After that, meeting up with the boyfriend to go see his house and possibly take him shopping with me (I need Goth accessories, and I'd like to find a red plaid skirt). And provided my roommates are still up to the challenge after the last few incredibly long days, it's off to Outland for a long-awaited night of debauchery. Yay!

01:16 am - Yeah, I know....
I should be in bed. But if I had gone to bed when I should have, then I never would have taken the most awesome IQ test of my life. I scored 141. Really. I'm not making it up. I'm amazed. I think the secret to these things is to take them at 1:00 a.m. when you're too tired to really think about what's being asked of you. Of course, the test I took when I was a kid came back with 145, and they tested me on a day when I wasn't the slightest bit interested in taking an IQ test. I think it's cool. Now if I only had the intelligence necessary to send myself to bed at a decent hour...

11:45 am - I'm back! :)
I have been a lousy updater lately. Between work and the new boyfriend, I haven't seemed to have any extra time this week.
Yes, Old Boyfriend is out and New Boyfriend is in. Old Boyfriend left a comment on my blog in Myspace saying, "Just found ya on here. I'm glad to see things are going better for you now. I just wanted you to know it was all me, it was nothing to do with you. I'm sorry." Comforting, isn't it? A week of anxiety, and I get "It's not you, it's me..." Stupid boys...
The amazing first date of last week has turned into quite the whirlwind of activity since then. I've created a new Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends addict; my next plan is to get him into Firefly. He's doing his best to make me eat healthier, and I think it's working. I'm still not quite to the point of giving up coffee, but I think I could do it easily enough. It's a newer addiction for me, after all. I've been giggly and bouncy for the last week or so, and it's a nice feeling.
Wasn't I supposed to do laundry today? Oh, but it's cold and raining and this is a much better way to pass the time... Besides, I did a couple of loads at New Boyfriend's place the other night while we watched Foster's, so I'm good for the next couple of days. Of course, I'm mentally looking over my schedule for the next week or so, and this really is the best day for it... But there's more coffee upstairs, and I made cranberry-walnut muffins this mroning that would make an incredible pre-lunch snack, and there's a dog sleeping at my feet, and my sweetie is sending me IMs from work... Someday, I will get my laundry caught up. :)
